Usually when the kids go to bed for their nap, I take the opportunity to sit down and do what I want/need to get done (mostly want). It's the only time really during the day that I get to do that. But today, my seven-year-old found her book, Just Like Mary when we were cleaning up. You should have seen her face light up! She was so excited.
So when the other two kids when down for their naps, she broke out the book to read it to me. We turned off the television and read three chapters. We then proceeded to write three paragraphs together about what we read. I can't believe how smart she is and how much she loves God. I'm so glad and proud I could burst. As a matter of fact, she's sitting here right now bugging me to get on the computer so she can type it out. Maybe I will let her post it to my blog when she's done with it.
I feel so blessed.

Our Lists!
I did it!! I sat down and made checklists for the kids in the morning and in the evening (I'm still working on mine- as far as how to organize it and all). I just couldn't wait to get on here and share.
The kids were eating their breakfast this morning and I grabbed a piece of scrap paper and told them we were going to make checklists of what they need to do at night and in the morning to get ready for school. I had them think about the things they needed to do, and then we separated them out into morning and night. My oldest daughter is almost 7 and she was right on the ball. She rattled out EVERYTHING. So see? The DO know what to do, it's just that they don't DO it!!
When we finished, we cheered for ourselves. I told them that now that we are organized, I won't have to tell them what to do all the time. They really liked that idea, and I did too!
So I made time this morning to type them out and print them and they each have their own clipboard. I can't wait to try this out. They were very excited about it. I just hope that it stays that way! Keep you posted!

PLAY!
What a day! First, I couldn't wake up when the alarm clock went off and then I haven't been able to cross off anything on my "to-do" list except play with the kids!!
So that's OK right? My oldest left this morning to a friend's house and made my son upset because he wanted to play with them too. So he and I and my youngest played with a baby toy (which we all enjoyed!!) and then I cracked out the Wii for him to play. He did such a good job!! He was so proud of himself and it was so nice to sit with the kids, not worry about anything, and just PLAY!
So I wasn't productive with my housework, but I think God will approve of my activities today with the kiddoes....
